Materials for electronics assembly

3M boasts an extensive range of materials designed to meet the quality, protection and performance needs of the electronics manufacturing industry.

Included in this range is acrylate-based UV and visible light curing adhesives that bond in seconds and are ideal for a broad range of PCB, component and micro assembly applications, including wire tacking, encapsulation, potting, sealing and lens bonding. Also available are Z-Axis, heat-cured adhesive films with low electrical resistance and high stability, suitable for fine pitch, polyimide or printed ink/polyester flexible circuit connections.

Thermally conductive tape secured by an acrylic adhesive with highly conductive ceramic particles provide a highly reliable thermal interface. This thermally conductive tape is ideal for cooling or heating applications. 3M’s XYZ-Axis electrically conductive tape is pressure sensitive for precision working on metallic finished surfaces. Both of these tapes can be supplied in die-cut or roll form.

A choice of three-layer thermo bonding films is available that adhere in seconds to a variety of plastics and metals, and give the precision and flexibility of film. These solvent-free films can be die-cut into precise shapes and sizes for heated manual or automated application.
